For Tom Petty it is usually Marshalls and Vox AC30's. Just about everything he does is simple, hooky, melodic and is necessary to the song. One of the reasons it was so damn much work for me to be i this band was because I had to learn damn near every note Campbell played. with all the Rickenbacker guitars and Vox amplifiers youd expect. There’s a worn-out, regretful, and boringly meditative tone to so many tracks here - this is not what one expects from a band that.

OK.I was a little unfair.I'm pretty sure he gets songwriting credit on most TP songs, and I suppose that it's for the guitar hooks which are, IMO, as integral to the songs as the lyrics or the melody.
